Volume IX, No. 21 December 7, 1987 the informer Staff PD Award donated The administration is taking nominations for a professional development award for support staff, as the result of a recent anonymous gift to the College. The gift of $250 is to be awarded to a support staff employee who, having made an outstanding contribution to the College,wishes to engage ina professional development activity. The gift requires that departments nominate worthy individuals to a management adjudication committee. Nomination forms are available from the Personnel Office and should be returned by December 15, 1987. Each form must indicate a nominee’s acceptance and outline the proposed professional development activity. When the Continued on page 2... New Media program underway The new Media Training for Native People program started in November on the Burrard Reserve. This ten month program is funded by a CEIC grant to the Chief Dan George Memorial Foundation Society and was developed by our Media Resources faculty. The curriculum incorporates both theory and hands-on training in video technology, audio production, slide/tape production, studio TV, communications for the media, and career development. CASP sponsors Native Awareness Days on campus Native Awareness Days are going on right now, and on December 7 and 8 the North Cafeteria will be serving the following Native menus.
