YACHATeaY Ol CWOCAH SHADES OF TOMORRO Shadows of Yesterday - Shades of Tomorrow is the third annual photographic exhibition by the Media Resources students. The theme this year, suggested by author Alvin Toffler in his book ''The Third Wave!'! is people, places, and things which have shaped our past, shape our present and will shape our fu- ture. Eighty black and white and thirty colour prints, and 150 slides will be on display April 22-28 in the Gallery. Weekday hours: 9:30am to 9 pm, Weekend: 9:30 to 4 pm. Admission is free. Students graduate from programs in Sechelt and at Lions Gate The Career and Academic graduates who wil] be taking part in a graduation ceremony at the Centennial Theatre, are not the only graduates from Capilano this month. In fact, there are three separate programs graduating this month — two in Sechelt and one from the Lions Gate Hospital. The Long Term Care Workers, 21 students who have taken the 16 week full-time program are graduating April 30 in Sechelt. They will be working in the local hospital and inter- mediate care facilities. The program, says Terry Adler, was made possible by the co- Operation of St. Mary's Hospital, and by the Sechelt Indian Band who helped with the funding — of the 21 students 7 are na- tive indians. Also graduating in Sechelt, April 27, are the Homemaker students, who will have completed their 30 week, one day a week program. 20 of the 21 students are already employees of a homemaker agency; the other is a homemaker for the Sechelt Meanwhile at the Lions Gate Hospital, 14 women are finishing up their R.N. Refresher program. This 15 week full time program has been run once before, but none of these three programs discussed will be running again in the near future, says Terry Adler. The graduates in Sechelt are meeting the present employment needs of the area, and the RN program will not be run again until LGH requests it. Indian Band. Future students? arrive Andree Vajda-Janyk, Fitness Instructor for Outdoor Recreation, has dropped some weight—6 Ibs and 12 oz to be precise. Her son was born on March 22 at 10:30 am. Not to be outdone, Melody Hucal, Accounting, had a son on April 1 at 8:30 pm, weighing 9 lbs. The people in the Accounging Office were guessing when the baby would arrive and Alan Ng came closest with March 31.
