CAPILANO COLLEGE - a public community college operated under the
Public Schools Act and funded at present 100% by the Provincial
Government for approved capital expenditures. Operating expenditures
are shared 60% provincial and 40% local, less student tuition fees.

Serving three School Districts: Howe Sound, West Vancouver, and North
Vancouver; eleven Secondary schools and 130,000 total population.

Operated by the College Council, ten members (two representatives appointed
by each school district and four members appointed by the Lieutenant
Governor in Council): Mr. J. MacDonald, Chairman, Dr. G. Wilson (ViceChairman), Mr. C. Adkins, Ms. D. Baigent, Dr. J. Ellis, Mr. S. Fougberg,
Mr. P. Powell, Mrs. E. Ross, Mr. G. Suart, Mr. W.J. Wallace.

Sites: Currently leasing eleven acres- thirty-four acres at Lynnmour
under negotiation to purchase. Dispersed services in leased facilities,
Squamish, West Vancouver, and North Vancouver.

Space: Fifty thousand square feet at Lynnmour, four other teaching centres,
three service centres.
