November 13/98 ‘'s for a celebration providing technical expertise with the assistance of audio-visual supervisor, Kathleen Cosgrove. Dianella Knight in MPS took photos. James Cooke, dean of Student Services and Foundation programs, penned the skit, How many administrators does it take to change a light bulb? Great job, Jim. You very possibly could quit your day job (but don’t). Barry Williamson, from the Registrar’s Office, and Counselling’s Lynne Hamilton composed the staff song, and I wrote the faculty skit. Theatre Art instructor, Stephen Atkins, provided directorial talent to the faculty skit, while Theatre technicians Peter Gerencher handled the sound and Jeff Rosen dimmed and brightened the lights. Retired Mathematics instructor, Bob Rennie, donated one of his watercolours, which was raffled and won by dean of College/Community Partnerships Stephanie Forsyth. The raffle raised more than $600, which will be matched by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Training and Technology. The money will go towards an emergency fund for College students. Foundation executive director, Lana Robinson, Foundation assistant, Christine Craft, and College Relations’ Shannon Spagnut all lent a huge helping hand before, during and after the celebration. Professional Film Studies instructor, Cam Williams, is making a special videotape of the event. Theatre student Leslie West volunteered as stage manager, and Beaver Foods graciously supplied the refreshments at a reduced cost. Des Price, manager of the Performing Arts Theatre, helped pull technicians, volunteers, and props together and Facilities came to the rescue, as usual, with some fine wood crafting. All the participants in the event deserve recognition for their courage and willingness to be involved. Finally, a big thank you to the College executive management group who acted as the 30th anniversary advisory committee. Each and every one of these people listed here were responsible for making the event a success. — Shelley Kean ing good, at left, puter Services Ranjbary and Victor with Ruth from Continuing ation.
