Try “Simple Fare” for Christmas Sorry to mention Christmas so soon, but if you are looking for a special Christmas present we have a recommendation. “Simple Fare” is a tape of simple, calming, gentle piano pieces designed to relax and refresh its listeners. (Bev Greene has already tried it while commuting in rush hour traffic and gives it an enthusiastic review.) This smoothly-woven selection, which includes short classics and lullabies, was performed by Music Therapy instructor Nancy McMaster and recorded by Lawrence Wu, also of the Music Department. Suggested uses include background for office work, baby feeding and bathing, calming down at bedtime, etc. The tape is $7.50 and orders must be placed by December 10 for guaranteed delivery before Christmas. Call 2307. “Adopt” a family The Media Centre is once again “adopting” a family in need this Christmas season. They would welcome other Instructional Services areas to participate in their project. If other departments are interested in “adopting” a family of their own, they should call Dawn Hughes at Local 2107 for the name of the person to contact at the Christmas Bureau. Got your Directory? The internal phone directories are finally out and ready. If you haven't already received one in your mailbox, please pick one up at Switchboard or ask them to send you one in the inter-office mail. Demonstrating at Craft Show The Clay and Textile Arts Department has received an invitation to participate in the Canadian Craft Show at the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre from December 2 to 6. The department will be setting up a booth with information on the program and students on hand demonstrating their work.
