ProNewsica Volume 00 Number 1 February, 1990 Reports from the Board! President: Chris Miller The season is progressing well, largely thanks to the advice of our past treasurer Iain Macanulty. Working for Pro Musica is proving to be an exciting and rewarding experience. Pro Musica's diversified and growing membership is a strength; however, the board requires input to work out a suitable direction. I encourage you to call us and let us know how you would like to see things happen. P.S. Make sure you try and make it to our concerts! Support alternative new music! Vice-President: Phillip Djwa Pro Musica has been very busy trying to grab grants and get organized. After a summer "cleaning house", we seem to right on track! I know we could all use some help so if you are interested in helping out, please give either me our Chris Miller a call.We '11 be sure to find something for you to do! Our first concert is on March 22,23 at 11: 1Spm at the Fireball Arts Centre (if anyone can help with postering or odd jobs, please feel free to call - we're going to need lots of help!) And remember - it's an exciting concert line-up, so be sure to try and make it! An OhMyGoodness Release Treasurer: Martin Hamm After many Board and Committee meetings the new signing officers have signed in, and the new treasurer is beginning to learn the ropes. Current projects include: preparing our official 1990 statement; completing a questionnaire for Stats Canada; preparing grant applications; and trying to find out just how much money we really do have in the bank! So far two grants have come in for our first series at the Fireball this year. Vice-President: Robert Dyck We have had some very interesting and productive meetings this year. The Board would like to encourage young composers in new music to come and become members of Pro Musical Come out and become a strong support from the community! Secretary: Darren CQJ>eland Since the newly elected Board of Directors first met in July, a number of aspects of Pro Musica's organizational structure and outlook have changed. The most satisfying and overt change is in the concern for an equal distribution of work among Board members. I encourage the membership to participate. The less Pro Musica is the work of the very few, the better its chances for renewed growth. Let's keep alternative new music alive in the city of Vancouver!
