February 18/00 he Business Computing Unit of the College’s Business Administration department, along with the Student Employment Centre, sponsored a Hire Fair at the North Vancouver campus on January 14. Computer Science students and students from the Technical Computer Professional program, Computer Specialist program, Network Specialist program, and the Business Computing Co-op program met information technology (IT) employers in the hopes of securing a job. Approximately 200 students attended the lively event, which drew companies Hire fair draws a crowd such as Seagate Software, EDS, Multiactive Software and several small North Vancouver IT start-up companies. The Hire Fair was organized by a committee consisting of Nancy Nowlan, Dave O’Leary, John Molendyk, Allan Robinson, and Dave Sharrock. Special thanks to Joe Iacobellis for his assistance in securing the multipurpose room in the Sportsplex, Marilyn Taylor, who contributed her expertise in special event planning, and Wendy Corriveau, who provided enormous overall support to the entire project.
