Results available for employee engagement survey Results from the recent employee engagement survey are now available in a 201-page report that can be viewed electronically at Frontlines/presidents-papers-reports. All employees are urged to choose green and view the report online rather than print it onto paper. The purpose of the survey, which ran from February 4 to 22, was to gather employees’ opinions on how well Capilano is meeting their needs and expectations. Several e-mails James Moore, MP for Port Moody- Westwood-Port Coquitlam, on behalf of the Honourable Josée Verner, Minister of Canadian Heritage, Status of Women and Official Languages, visited Capilano on April 23 to. announce $15,000 in funding for Capilano’s Foundation. These funds will assist the Foundation in the presentation of the 2008-2009 Jazz Series and Folk/Roots inviting employee involvement were sent from my office over this three- week period, and the final response rate was 44 per cent. Survey data is presented in several different categories and contains a comparison of our results with five other colleges in British Columbia that simultaneously participated in the same survey. The one-page summary provided on page 31 shows the most favourable and least favourable scores. Series at the Capilano College Performing Arts Theatre (CCPAT). “This unique funding program, specifically targeted at present- ers, has allowed our jazz series to develop, grow and flourish,” said Fiona Black, director of Programming for CCPAT. “Our Ja Studies degree program is secon to none and has produced many great artists who are having an impact on the jazz scene.” Further analysis will assist Capilano in furthering its commitment to valuing employees as its greatest asset and responding to the issues that were identified. Capilano’s Sun Run team moved up one spot from last year, placing eleventh in the category of corporate teams — educational institutions. ; —y) Ee S Students from the Rehabilitation Assistant diploma program also had a Sun Run team. The Drag King Project by Capilano Media Arts instructor, Toni Latour, has been . acquired by the Portrait Gallery of Canada. Toni has also been awarded a $20,000 Canada Council for the Arts grant. The Drag King Project (2005) is the result of Toni’s work with two Vancouver drag king troupes, DK United and $3 Bill. It is comprised of 26 transmounted photographs, a 40-minute video of drag performances, and wall-mounted vinyl text derived from audio interviews with the participating drag kings. Toni will use the funds from the CCA to begin a new project that continues her examination of gay communities in Vancouver, looking specifically at femme identity, representation and politics.
