NEW ERA MARATHON

Taki Bluesinger

Beginning at Vancouver City Hall, and cheered on by a team of sports
from the local art microcosm, Taki Bluesinger runs 15 kilometers fast
forward to the Burnaby Art Gallery. The documentation on videotape
is the first travelogue of Metric Vancouver. Taki Bluesinger, once a
champion high school marathon runner in Japan, conceived this piece
to show the way to the Burnaby Art Gallery. it also shows a way
through to art. New Era Marathon will stand as a major sculptural work
created in the space of this city.
