THE INFORMER PAGE 4 OCTOBER 4, 1989 PEO Pee Doug Jardine, President, and Sandra Moe, Women’s Studies, received plaques from The North Van Women’s Liberal Commission recently to honour their work with the group. “Basically, I’ve served as a liaison between the College and the Commission,” Sandra says, modestly. Thanks to Sandra’s hard work the commission has donated a scholarship to the College and is continuing its support of the Women’s Lecture Series. “They’re a very good group of people,” said Sandra, “very interested in our Women’s Studies program and supportive of our efforts to inform and involve the community on women’s issues.” The scholarship was awarded to first year Women’s Studies students Jean Trudeau and Randi Janson. Rob Turner, Dean of Student and Instructional Services, has been invited to sit on the External Evaluation Team for Lethbridge Community College in early December. < INFORMED CHOICE Wednesday, October 11 The Woman’s Film: Representation and Desire. A discussion of the gender agenda of classic cinema, including the ‘woman’s film’ of the 40s. Teacher Exchange Beginning in January, Larry Spicer of our Business Management department, will be changing places with Tony Hughes of the Tea Tree Gully College of Technical and Further Education, Adelaide, Australia. Tony will be arriving in December to take over Larry’s workload and house. He is coming with his wife, Judy, and son, Craig, who may take some courses at Cap. His daughter, Robyn, hopes to transfer to Price Waterhouse for the year.
