Due to the lateness in receiving the final
budget, the timetable production was de-
layed one month and the dates for mail
registration have had to be changed. This
may seem futile in light of the fact that
there isn't any mail, however people can
still drop by the Registrar's office to
hand deliver their forms between Tuesday
August 4 and Friday August 21. In person
registration should be September 1, 2 & 8.

If you enjoy backpacking, have some exper-
ience at it and are in’ relatively good
physical condition, you may be interested
in the C.E./Outdoor Rec Backpacking Expe-
dition to the Spatsizi Plateau Wilderness
Park. ''Across the road'' from Mt. Edziza
Provincial Park, this area abounds with
wildlife, including large numbers of moose,
caribou, Stone sheep, wolves and coyotes.
The term ''Spatsizi'' is actually a Tahitan
Indian word from the red goat which inha-
bits this area as well. And the goats, in-
cidentally, aren't really red, but get the
colour from rolling in the iron oxide de-
posits on the mountain slopes. Also of in-
terest are the various botanic regions,
ranging from boreal spruce forests to the
alpine tundra. The trip is from Monday
August 24 to August 31 and costs $300.

Cragg of BTCD gave birth to a 6 Ib, 11 oz
girl who has been named Carys. The depart-
ment refers to this as ''a new kind of dev-
