WE NEED PHOTOS!!! In what has apparently evolved into a tradition of sorts, the Informer will once again be publishing photos of various staff and faculty members at a tender age (say between 2 and 10 years old) and giving a prize to the first three people who can correctly identify all the photographs. In order to do this, though, we need photos. We are particularly looking for anyone who has a picture of themselves sitting on Santa's knee, or in another Christmassy pose (i.e. knocking over the Christmas tree). Please contact us within the next two weeks so that we can get the photos ready for the Christmas issue—and be discreet. Don't show anyone the photo ahead of time. Call us 323/324 if you have a snap that we can use. (We will copy the photo and return it to you in the same condition that we receive it.) Who is that masked man? Well, for starters, that's no masked man, but a masked woman. We considered using this picture in our Christmas issue, where we will be publishing another series of "guess who the children are now' photos, but finally decided that we'd print this now to get you warmed up for the Christmas issue. Have you figured out who this is yet? If you guessed Caroline Price, you were right. This reference librarian is also an art student, and in this photo she was modelling for a death mask type of sculpture. No one has stopped to inform us how long she had to wear that plaster, or how exactly she managed to breathe in that thing (perhaps that's why they're called death masks). Caroline is on leave right now, but will be back in January. Exhibition stops at Rockies One of the major international exhibitions of this decade will be coming to Calgary in January, and that will be its only engagement in Western Canada. Therefore, if you are interested in viewing "The Precious Legacy: Judaic Treasures from the Czechoslovak State Collections," you should start making your travel plans. The Jewish Festival of the Arts Society is arranging four tours in January and February, which. include airfare, tours, accommodation, admissions, lecture, and so forth, and are quite inexpensive ($249 for a weekend). If you are interested in more details about this, contact Joyce Fancher in the — Art department. She has registration forms and flyers. COLOPHON The Informer is published sporadically, but with high hopes of weekliness, by Information Services, A118 or local 323 and 324. Submissions are more than welcome. Photos are generally the work of Dave Sharrock and Edna Sakata in MPC, printing is done by Linda Givens and Dave Callow in the Print Shop, and the distribution is handled by the denizens of the Switchboard and Typing Pool. We reserve the right to deny absolutely everything unless it's tax deductible.
