Fishy business in Sechelt

Cap College was one of four sponsors of an
Aquaculture seminar on the Sunshine Coast
last week. The three day event aimed at
bankers and investors had such overwhelming
response that the location of the sessfons
had to be moved to larger accommodations.
The College, through Extension Services,
also held a four session ''Introduction to
Fish Farming'' course at the Sechelt campus
which had over 30 particIpants. One of the
speakers in the course was Peter Crook of
Peter Crook (Scotland) Ltd.who specializes
in designing complete net cage packages
for fish farms. Since the Sunshine Coast
Tourism Association fs attempting to set
up a World Mariculture Showcase for 1986,
more courses and events In this field can
undoubtedly be expected fn the future.

New film series upcoming

The news from the Women's Access Centre is
that their fall film serfes on Focus on
Peace was such a success that they'll be
doing another film series in the spring.
Focus on Sexism In the Media will run on
Tuesdays in the open block time starting
January 22. By the way, they even had some
men turn up for one of the films this fall
who got hooked and came for the rest of
the series. For more WAC information keep
an eye out for their Spring 85 brochure
which will be coming out soon.
