April 23/99 Human Resources update Updated criteria listings for software testing Most competitions require some level of software testing. Applications that are used include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Each test requires candidates to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in a task test. The criteria listings have now been updated and are available for your review prior to testing on software applications. The criteria listings outline the types of tasks you will be expected to complete and list the software versions available. Human Resources has recently upgraded the computer used for testing and various versions of each software application are available. Candidates can choose the version they are most familiar with for their test. The redesigned College Web site was a collaboration between Media Production Service, Community Relations and Computer Services. Knowing where to find functions will save you time. Don’t forget to use your right mouse click in Office Suite ’97 versions of software. Often you will find the function which you are looking for. e Invest in a good reference book on the software application and become familiar with it. Remember that your personal reference material is allowed. ¢ Book a session on the software tutorial program on the training room computer. This will give you a chance to review and practise on your versions of the Microsoft software application.
