Son of Heaven Impresses Student Kim Unger returned from a Retail © Management class excursion to the Son of Heaven Exhibit in Seattle full of praise. “The condition of the artifacts was unbelievable,” said Kim, “especially considering some of the pieces are 2,000 years old.” She reports that a recorded guide and the division of the exhibit into five areas helped her understand the significance of the art, and that the most incredible pieces were the life-size terra cotta warriors, the Jade Burial Suit, and the reconstructed Throne Room. All in all, says Kim, “It was awe-inspiring!” The Extension Department has also organized a group tour to Son of Heaven with pre-tour lectures by Dr. Louise May, Academic Coordinator of the International Studies Program. The $40 price tag includes two lectures by Dr. May November 2 and 3 in A117 from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. and a 2-1/2 hour guided tour of the exhibit beginning at the Seattle Centre, Flag Pavilion at 6:30 p.m. on November 11.
