November 18/94 — A Personnel Note. . . Or again, we have had an extraordinary staffing month. Cindy Rogers, manager of Personnel Services, is on a six-month parental leave effective October 28. Tanya Steer will be sure to report the good news when the big event happens. Good luck to everyone involved in baby pool bets! In Cindy’s absence, please contact Adele Beaudry for classification assistance, staff training, and the EAP Committee. Dale Gagne is the contact for general personnel assistance, all staff hires, selection committees, and collective agreement entitlements. There have been a number of positions filled with congratulations going to: Carol Paskaruk and Lee Ederer, who both won RFT positions as registration/admissions assistants. Faye Ulker is the new RPT clerk typist for the Purchasing Department. We also have had a number of longer term temporary assignments. The new learning assistant for ARC is Erica Brant. Angela Wong, cashier/ clerk and Jill Feist, clerk 1, are currently working in Financial Services until next spring. John Hatzitolios and Ian McCuaig are the new (relief) store clerks in the Music Department and Kerry Mulhern is the personal care attendant for the campus. J L” Morton has been honored with a LERN International Award for her creative design of Capilano College’s Fall Extension Programs Calendar. The Learning Resources Network (LERN), based in Manhattan, Kansas, provides information and consulting services to organizations offering educational programming for adults. Media Resources is also proud to report that Beverley Reid’s film, “Letter from Jampaling” won The Golden Apple award at the Los Angeles Educational Film Festival. This is Bev’s second Golden Apple award ... Doug Cameron, Capilano College financial aid advisor, has Pink been busy at his “other” career -- acting! He recently costarred with Shari Lewis as an owner of a horror studio in “Lambchop in the Haunted Studio.” If you missed that, you can catch him playing the male lead in Stephen Sondheim’s musical “Into the Woods” at UBC’s Frederic Wood Theatre until Nov. 26. By the way, Doug’s next role is head elf for Breakfast with Santa at the downtown Vancouver Eaton’s store. Reservations are required for the two seatings on Dec. 3, 10 and 17, and Doug says to make them soon . . . Another actor in our midst is Payroll’s Iris Cunningham. She recently played a young widow in Donagh McDonagh’s “Happy As Larry.” The play ran for three weeks at Vancouver Little Theatre. Watch for her in another role in the near future. O
