Aug. 11 told of Perry’s announcement. He said associate degrees will help students who look for jobs after two years in college. Marleen Morris, Director of Public Relations at Cap, explained the degrees will make post-secondary education more attractive to many people because of the promise of early recognition. “It’s a positive step...it will help us to attract students who are on a degree path or who may not have thought of a degree,” she said. Cap will offer two associate degrees, one in Arts and one in Sciences. To qualify a student must complete 60 semester credits in university transfer courses. Specific course requirements are outlined in an update to the Calen- dar. Frank Gelin, Vice-President Aca- demic Studies, was co-chair of the provincial Council on Admissions and Transfer that recommended the degrees to the Ministry. Card Designs Sought Do you know any students with a flair for graphic design? If so, please tell them about the 1992 Capilano College Holiday Season Card Design Competition. The Public Relations Department is holding the contest, which is open to all students. The winner will receive $300. There is a possible $200 for second prize. The winner(s) will be selected by the Art and Design faculty and the Public Relations Department. The deadline for entries is Oct. 15. Rules are posted on student bulletin boards throughout the College. Towing Again! As of Sept. 8, the College policy of towing illegally parked vehicles will be strictly enforced. If your vehicle has been impounded, please call Payless Towing at 988-4176. As a courtesy, the truck drivers will sometimes pick you up in front of the North Cafeteria. Charges are $40 for the first day and $5 each additional day, payable by cash, Visa or MasterCard.
