October 20/95 Win 10.G, Yea 35 A956 Join the Fun and Chase Away the Winter Doldrums rom February 22 to February 25, North Vancouver will play host to the 18th annual B.C. Winter Games. More than 2,800 athletes and coaches from across the province will participate in 30 sporting events, making the North Vancouver Winter Games the biggest ever. Capilano College will play a major role during the Games, which will have a positive economic impact in excess of $2 million on the North Shore. During the spring reading break, the North Vancouver campus will become home to approximately 400 athletes. It will also be the registration centre, gymnastics venue and location of the closing ceremonies. Several Capilano College employees are volunteering their time and talents toward making this event the most exciting and successful Games yet. Capilano College director of Supply and Services, Dave Brewer, is the Games director of Food Services. Marleen Morris, Capilano College’s director of Public Relations, is the Games director of Promotions. Volunteering their time as chairs of the following committees are: Sport Awareness: Joe Iacobellis, manager, Athletics and Recreation. Games Welcoming Banquet: Richard Brown, director, Food Services. Village Meals: Judy Newall, supervisor, South Cafeteria. Entertainment: Bob Morris, programmer, Extension Programs and Services. Signs and Carpentry: Ian Robertson, director, Buildings and Grounds.
