Submitted by Dr. Frank Harris At the November meeting, Education Council gave approval in principle to six new programs: Oil Spill Management program citation; Mountain Bike certifi- cate; Foundations for Illustration and Design certificate; Advanced Illustration certificate; Advertising Design certificate; and Exhibit Design certificate. Dr. Bill Gibson reported the College has decided that waitlists will no longer be gathered during registration. Instead, if a class fills and students withdraw, the available space will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Terry Byrnes reported the Diversity committee is planning a celebration for November 15, and a diversity week in March 2006 with Report from Ed Council an essay contest. The committee is exploring possible space for quiet meditation and individual prayer. Rae Nickolichuk and Cheryl Schreader were elected to the Education Council Curriculum committee. Christine Ellis reported the Planning committee has been looking at ethical purchasing for the College. Council decided the matter needs consideration and postponed discussion to a future meeting.
