He has been lega l co un se l in the negotiatio n and impl ementation of severa l F irst Nation land c la im and se lf-governm ent agreements in th e Yukon . In additi on , he has been invo lved in th e settlement of spec ifi c c laims, the deve lopment of community constituti ons and the negotiation of reso urce transfer agreem ents. He has also been th e c hi ef legal co un sel for the Co un c il of Yukon First Nations. Daryn has represented F irst Nation s durin g th e ir treaty negotiation s in th e British Co lumbi a Treaty Process and represented A bori gin al governments in th e Northwest Territories with respec t to constitutional development and land claim matters. Daryn has been a member of the L aw Society of British Columbia since 1994 and bec ame a me mber of the L aw Society of Yukon in 1995 . After completing a Bachelor of Arts (Politi cal Science) at th e U ni versity of British Columbi a, he gradu ated from the Fac ulty of Law at th e U ni versity of Toronto in 1993. He arti cled with th e D epartment of Justice in Whiteh orse, Yukon , and clerked with th e Supreme Co urt of th e Yukon. A lthough he spent hi s first five years livin g a traditiona l Aborig in a l li fe and speakin g hi s native lang uage, he gained an understandin g of the modern world whi le attending res idential sc hoo ls in th e so uth ern Yukon. Blessed with a stron g sin g in g voice, he sang throughout the Yukon with a school c hoir.
