Daily News Goes Online B y now, many people may have noticed a new category on the main computer menu called Daily News. The Public Relations department initiated a test run on this new electronic information vehicle over the past few months and we are now ready to go online full-time. Daily News will be utilized and shared by all College employees who have access to a computer and to Claude. This additional communications data base is meant to facilitate, improve and aid communications within the College community. It will also offer up-to-date information relating to College activities. How To Include Your Important Information There are five categories in Daily News where you can have your information placed for quick and easy access. They are: Daily Update, Weekly Calendar, Classifieds, People and Sports Page. If you have an important event or piece of information which you would like to share with the College community, simply type it into Pegasus Mail and send it to capnews@capcollege.bc.ca. Please note that this address must be typed in lower case letters and users must use the full name. Your message will be sent to the College reception desk and inputted there. This will ensure that all news will appear on screen in a consistent style and updated or removed when necessary. It will also assist reception in directing inquiries for particular events. Information on concerts, change of venues for exams, new faces in your department, or a car for sale, are just some examples of what can be sent. News will be added daily and all categories will be updated weekly, unless extensions are requested. Daily News can also be accessed from Triton, so you will be able to check what’s going on at the College from your home computer. » We hope that you will all use Daily News on a regular basis and pass on any relevant information to members of your department who may not have access to a computer or to Claude. i Brian Latta and Amy Nosek are Ben and Gloria in Murray Schisgal’s play The Tiger.
