SQUAM I SH TI Me:·s November 22, 1983 page 10 History instructor at Capilano wins An instructor at Capilano College in Squamish has been granted the Charles M. Gates Memorial Award by the Washington State Historical Society. Robert Campbell, who is presently teaching History 111, Canada Since Confederation, receives the award for the best published contribution , in the review the Pacific Northwest Quarterly. The historical society commended him for his "great contributions through research and writing on the history of the state and the region." Campbell will be teaching B.C. history in Squamish one evening per week beginning in January. The course will provide an overview of B.C. emphasizing its social and political development from the 18th century to recent times. It will also explore some aspects of the development of the Howe Sound area. Students can take the course for credit or for interest.
