Informer & Capilano = College Staff Career Development by Carol McQuarrie, Chair, Staff Career Development Committee Achievements Congratulations to Diane Parker, Library Assistant II, who completed her Library Technician Diploma this spring. Diane’s duties in Technical Services include processing periodicals. Another library staffer, Robyn Janssens, starts on her diploma program this fall. Fall Workshops This year our theme is “Workplace Awareness.” In October we'll be presenting, along with a number of other college committees, a viewing and discussion of “The Chilly Climate,” a video which explores the issues that “poison” the working and learning environment for women in colleges and universities. This event will be open to everyone. In November a workshop on Sexual Harassment will be offered. Dates and details on these workshops will be forthcoming.There’s a good possibility that our 93 Career Development Day will expand into two days, giving staff members the opportunity to attend ONE day for a full day workshop, rather than the half-day workshops offered the last This is how we work on your behalf!
