Informer += Capilano = College Action on the Soccer Field ongratulations to the four female and four male Capilano soccer players who have been selected for the B.C. Provincial All-Star Teams. Striker and midfielder Melissa Artuso and centre back Dian Van Drimmelen were voted onto the Women’s First Team and named to the All-Canadian Team for Colleges. Michelle Artuso and Lynn Westerman were voted onto the provincial Second Team. Midfielder John Pashalidas, central midfielder/striker David Mori, and sweeper Harry Sandhu were voted to the Men’s First Team with John and David named to the All-Canadian Team. In other soccer news, both of Capilano College’s soccer teams travelled to Kamloops on November 5 to compete in the BCCAA Provincial Playoffs. The results are as follows: Semi-Finals: Women wW Langara Capilano 2 Men Capilano 2 Malaspina 1 Finals: Women Capilano 3 U.C//Fraser Valley 0 Men U.C/Cariboo 1 Capilano College 0 The women received a bronze medal and the men captured a silver medal. O Food Survey Results Ras are in from the 300 food ervice surveys issued at random to the College community last spring. The overall consensus from the 71 replies is that food service operation is doing most things well. While Richard Brown, director of Food Services, is reviewing areas requiring attention, there is one area which needs little alteration. Receiving top marks out of four categories was the quality of service. A new survey will be conducted in the near future with the Food Services Committee looking forward to a greater response. O The ACCC 1995 Awards Program he Association of Canadian Community Colleges is calling for nominations for its national 4 awards program. Individual and institutional achievements will be honored in six categories: teaching excellence, program excellence, internationalization excellence, leadership excellence, student leadership excellence, and staff excellence. ACCC member institutions may submit one nomination per category. Nominations must be received at the ACCC Secretariat by December 2, 1994. Please contact John Potts at 2988 for more information. There will be two versions of the final report. First, a summary version of recommendations and conclusions that will have a wide distribution. Second, a complete report with appendices that will be available in the Library and other selected locations. The Committee expresses its sincere thanks to the College community. Individual time and cooperation in completing the climate survey and ballot was most appreciated. Attendance and input at the all-College forum was extremely valuable. Interest and concern was noted and taken into consideration. Most important, the Committee had the opportunity to meet and work with some wonderful College personnel and students. O
